Cork's O'Connor poised for Crawley move
Cork City’s Shane O’Connor may be on his way out of the club after he appeared in a trial for Crawley Town on Wednesday night.
The left-sided winger has had a difficult time with injuries since arriving at Turner’s Cross at the beginning of the season but after Crawley registered their interest in signing the 22 year-old last week, he’s been allowed to travel cross-channel and attempt to earn a move back to England.
O’Connor played in the opening half of a 4-0 win in Crawley’s first pre-season game over Tonbridge Angels, setting up the Reds’ second goal for fellow Corkman Billy Clarke.
This is O’Connor’s second trial with the League One club after he impressed following his release from Ipswich Town last season, though he then opted to come home to Cork.
He has failed to impress since returning to Leeside, making just four starts all season following leg and hand injuries.
Crawley had been linked with Gearóid Morrissey in recent weeks but have yet to make any formal enquiries with regards to the 20 year-old.
