Dundalk Football Club up for sale

The Board of Dundalk Football Club have this morning issued an invitation to interested parties to buy the long-term lease and property of the club.

The Lilywhites currently find themselves in a serious financial situation and measures are being taken to ensure the Louth side's survival.


The statement on the club website read: 

"Dundalk FC is inviting interested parties to contact the club either in writing or in person in relation the Sale of the Club's Long Term Lease.


Dundalk FC has a long standing history and is a very well known football club that has won many league and cup titles and represented the League of Ireland in European competition playing against the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Ajax, Porto, and more recently Levski Sofia. The club is currently playing in the Premier League of Ireland and has been for the past 4 years.

The club also includes a newly constructed multi million euro Youth Development Centre which is 46,000 square foot. This facility compromises of three indoor astro turf pitches, one sprung sports floor to facilitate multi sports, bars and lounges, Coffee dock, Fully equipped Gym, conference rooms, functions rooms, dressing rooms, toilets, a lift and 153 underground car parking places."

Hiney Park is also connected with the club. Hiney Park is a four-acre site with a grass football pitch on the grounds."


The Dundalk board previously issued a plea to local and national businesses but with no offers forthcoming, the board confirmed that the financial well being of the club is deteriorating.

Meanwhile, Supporters of the the Lilywhites will be holding a meeting this evening to discuss potential fundraising initiatives to aid their club.
