Bray swoop for winger from US

Bray Wanderers have today confirmed the capture of winger Brendan King on a free transfer.
The 22 year old has been capped for USA at U17 and U20 level and joins the Seagulls after rejecting the opportunity to play for the Portland Timbers in the current season of the MLS. He played over sixty games for his college Notre Dame before graduating last year.
His performances during his time in college resulted in him being included in the MLS draft for the 2012 season but after spending pre-season with Portland, he decided against signing for the club and instead becomes Pat Devlin’s second signing of the week after Kevin O’Connor joined from Worcester City.
King can play on either wing or up front and found the net five times for Notre Dame as well as setting up twelve goals. He was part of the USA’s U17 World Cup side and will provide Bray with quality on the flanks to provide for the likes of Jason Byrne and Kieran Waters.
The winger has been drafted straight into Bray’s squad for the televised game with Sligo on Saturday.
