EURO adventure starts today

 

Forget about EURO 2012. The real European adventure begins today with two Irish clubs taking their first steps in this summers UEFA competitions.

 

At 4.30 this afternoon Portadown take to the field against FK Skendija of Macedonia in the first qualifying round of the Europa League. Manager Ronnie McFaul is without injured defenders Keith O’Hara and Chris Ramsey and takes a squad of just fifteen players with him.

 

Linfield, meanwhile, have a home tie against B36 Torshavn in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. The tie kicks off at 7.45 in Windsor Park. extratime will have our man, John McCormack, at the game in Belfast and will bring you regular updates on how the Blues are getting on against their Faroe Islands opponents.
