Graham McCarthy signs for Cork City

Cork City have confirmed the acquisition of midfielder Graham McCarthy from Avondale United.
The 24-year-old has joined the club after a magnificent season in the Munster Senior League, where he won the league and the FAI Intermediate Cup.
City manager Tommy Dunne said: “Graham had a great season with Avondale and was recommended to me as one of the best players in the Munster Senior League. He came in and trained with us; he enjoyed it and he did well. We are pleased to have signed him and hope that he can progress over the coming months.
“We are looking at a number of players who we feel can improve the squad, and we are likely to add another one or two players when the transfer window opens.”
Dunne confirmed yesterday that the club have a couple of players from outside the league on trial.
