We had a taste of League of Ireland action on Thursday night as Shamrock Rovers came to Tolka Park and left with all three points after a 3-2 win over Shelbourne. On Friday night, the rest of the games take place. With the withdrawal of Monaghan United from the league this week, it means that league leaders Sligo Rovers will not place this week. Shamrock Rovers and St. Patrick's Athletic both gained a match in hand on the Bit o'Red with the exit of the Mons. The Hoops took their three points and on Friday Pats will attempt to do likewise as they face Bohemians.
