Drogheda United travel to the Brandywell on Friday night hoping to close the gap between themselves and Derry City, who lie 8 points ahead, with a game more played (kick-off 19:45).

Derry City will be without Peter Hutton, out with a groin injury whilst Clive Delaney is suspended for the game.

For Drogheda United, captain Declan 'Fabio' O'Brien who damaged a hamstring in last week's match in Finn Park, is out as is Guy Bates with a damaged shoulder.

Doolin was satisfied with the Setanta Cup result against Cork on Monday night. He was also pleased with the form of the two debutants; keeper Paul Skinner and right full back Mick Clarke.

'Paul made a good start in his first full match and Mick is improving all the time since he signed full time forms for us a few months ago. I thought we played some very good football against Cork and deserved to win, even though we rested several players'.

Extratime.ie Prediction:Derry City have had two long trips to Cork recently, but we still back the Candystripes for the win. 2-1 to Derry.
