Sullivan returns to Shamrock Rovers

Pat Sullivan has re-joined Shamrock Rovers for the remainder of the 2012 season. The full back, who is probably best remembered for his stunning goal against Partizan Belgrade in last season’s Europa League qualifier, won two league title medals with the Hoops in 2010 and 2011 and will be a welcome addition to Stephen Kenny’s squad.

Sullivan left the league champions at the end of last season to go traveling in Australia but returned to Ireland last month. He began his career at UCD and went on play for Drogheda United and Longford Town, appearing in their FAI Cup final defeat to Cork City in 2007.

In 2008 he signed for Cork City and spent eighteen months at Turner’s Cross before moving on to sign for Michael O’Neill at Shamrock Rovers in 2009, amid the growing financial crisis on Leeside.
