Hertha Berlin vs St Particks Athletic

St. Pats go into the biggest game of their 79 year history tonight with the news that both Keith Fahey and Eircom League player of the month winner, Mark Quigley will be fit and expected to play in the massive Olympic Stadium, which has a capacity of almost 80000 and was the venue for the 2006 World Cup Final.

The Saints will be without Stephen Paisely and John Murphy due to injury but Jamie Harris returns to the side after a suspension.

Hertha Berlin:

Founded: 25/7/1892
Stadium: Olympic Stadium (74.500)
Last season: 6th
Honours: German Championship (1930,1931), Ligapokal (2001, 2002), UEFA Intertoto-Cup(2006)
Website: www.hertha.de
Manager: Lucien Favre
Colours: Home- Blue, Away- Red
Nickname: The Old Lady

Hertha are currently in 10th position of the Bundesliga after four games and last weekend they drew 2-2 with Wolfsburg but they're not looking at tonight as a big game. Manager, Lucien Favre is expected to make several changes while the fans expect them to win comfortably.

We've seen Irish teams being underestimated and coming out with a result before though and lets hope Pats can get something from this massive tie.

The Saints have sold out their original allocation of 200 but fans will also be able to buy tickets at the ground for a lowly sum of €11.

The game is the stand-alone UEFA Cup fixture tonight after it was moved forward from Thursday due to television rights in Germany. It will also kick off at the earlier time of 5pm so it will not clash with tonights Champions League coverage.

The game will be officiated by a set of Polish match officials while proceedings will be shown live on Setanta Ireland at 5pm.

Extratime Prediction: As much as we'd like to see Pats get a result tonight it doesn't look likely. Hertha are playing at a superior level every week and will look at Pats as small-time. The men from Inchicores only hope is if the Germans underestimate them and I can honestly see Pats only grabbing a draw at best. 2-0 to Hertha would be my bet if I was a gambler.
