Bray Wanderers vs Galway United

Bray Wanderers and Galway United will once again battle for a place in the FAI Cup Semi Finals when they face each other in Tuesday night’s Quarter Final replay at the Carlisle Grounds.

For Bray, Mark Duggan returns from suspension. He missed out on Friday's match after collecting four penalty points. Bray have injury doubts over Gavin Whelan and Friday night's goalscorer Andy Myler. Both picked up knocks in the game and will have to undergo fitness tests before Tuesday’s match. Ronan Ivory is the only player certain to miss out. He is a long-term absentee with a pelvic injury.

Before Tuesday’s match, Bray manager Eddie Gormley said: “I was happy with the team’s second half performance once we sorted a few things out at half-time on Friday and I think we deserved a replay. I’m hoping we can now go on and book our place in the semi-finals.”

Galway will be strengthened by the return of winger Jay O’Shea and striker Derek Glynn. Both missed Friday night’s tie, O’Shea was suspended and Glynn was suffering from a chest infection. Alan Murphy and Iarfhlaith Davoren are the only absentees as both are cup-tied.

Speaking ahead of the replay, Galway boss Jeff Kenna said: “We played some good football last Friday, particularly in the first half. We needed the second goal to kill off the game. However, once again we conceded softly from a set play. I will be looking for the players to replicate what they did in the first half and, this time, see that work rate through until the end of the game.”

Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Extratime.ie prediction: Both sides had control over the game on Friday night in different periods and a draw was a fair result. Over the last two seasons, these sides have an equal record in the league with two wins, a draw and two defeats each. Galway’s returning pair of O’Shea and Glynn are crucial to their attack. However, Duggan has been a lynchpin in the Bray midfield all season and is easily Bray’s most consistent performer this year. Another 1-1 looks to be on the cards. Expect penalties.
