Cork confirm official bid has been made

At a public meeting of FORAS, the Cork City fans initiative, it was confirmed that local property developer and quantity surveyor Tom Coughlan has submitted an official bid to buy Cork City FC. He submitted it to the examiner, Kieran Mc Carthy, today while he also outlined his plans to FORAS tonight.

A member of the trust confirmed that he wants the initiative to be involved from the beginning. Coughlan will meet with representatives of the trust next week to discuss the plans in more detail.

This comes as a great boost to Cork ahead of Saturday's pivotal FAI Cup quarter-final with Derry City. It's also great news for all involved with the club as the October 7th deadline for the end of the Examinership period is still over three weeks away.
