Buckley pleased with Pats performance

After seeing his side leave The Showgrounds with a point on Friday night, St. Patrick's Athletic manager Liam Buckley admits he was disappointed they didn't leave with all three after the performance his team put in.

"It's disappointing, obviously winning 2-1 would have been great and in fairness I thought we played well, we passed it well and created a few chances. If we had won it 2-1 with the penalty I don't think too many people would be saying that we got out of jail there and that we were lucky, but that's it, it was a draw, we'll take that."

When asked if he would be perhaps changing his penalty taker, he simply responded that even the best can miss them.

"Well Ronaldo can miss them, Messi can miss them too. It was frustrating with just minutes to go and three points would've been great, but it wasn't to be and we move on."

St. Pat's also remain unbeaten so far this season.

"It's great (to remain unbeaten), the back four played well but with that goal I think Brendan (Clarke) punched the ball and it came back after hitting Kenny Browne off the back of the head and it goes in, you just don't expect that sort of thing. Apart from that Brendan pulled off a great save in the second half after having an otherwise quiet first half with not much to do."

Perhaps The Saints biggest problem on the night was not having enough players in the box when they were needed, and Buckley feels this is something that needs to be addressed.

"We just need a bit more presence in the box at times, especially looking at some of the crosses we put in from the right in particular but for our presence in the box and movement, we were average on that end but we can't be too disappointed and to take a point away from The Showgrounds isn't too bad."
