Munster Sporting Legends take on Monks
Former professionals Tony Cascarino and Teddy Sherringham are among the big names who have thrown their support behind a charity soccer match in aid Pieta House.
‘The Monks of Moyross’ take on a selection of Munster Sporting Heroes on the 20th of May in Shelbourne Park, Limerick with both teams competing for the Challenge Cup. 2,000 supporters turned out the last time such an event was held, with the Monks destroying the Gardai 5-2 in a thrilling encounter.
Limerick FC will take on a select XI from the Limerick District Junior League on the same day, as a big crowd is expected to come out and support the double header, with the first game kicking off at 2pm.
All money raised will go to Pieta House, a service aimed at preventing self-harm or suicide who has centres of excellence in Dublin and Limerick. For more information, see their Facebook page.
