St Patrick's Athletic manager Liam Buckley praised his side's performance following their 5-1 victory against Shamrock Rovers at Inchicore on Friday night. However Buckley refused to get too carried away, despite the emphatic win.

"It is still only three points at the end of the day, but it is an important three points. It puts us near the top of the table. We want to be in the mix for the spots in Europe. So from that end it was a really important result. Maybe we caught them on an off night but we did play particularly well."

19 year old Chris Forrester scored two excellent goals fxor the Saints. Buckley praised the youngster  but wants him to achieve consistency.

"They were two brilliant goals. He is a talented kid who will definitely play at a higher level. I was delighted with his performance. He can play in the middle of the park also. He has the potential to earn a career from the middle of the field but he has already been in the team and his performances haven't been as good as that tonight.  I expect him to get a better consistency with his game. "

Buckley  also praised the contribution of  two goal hero Christy Fagan.

"Christy (Fagan) has done great in the last couple of games. He is a great link player. With your back to goal is probably the most difficult job on our team. He has to try and bring other players into the game and I will also be expecting him to get his fair quota of goals this season.  I was delighted with his performance. We just need to work on his fitness."

The Pats boss also praised his midfield and his back four who once again remained unchanged.

"As a group it has been a great night for St. Pat's. I have to praise the defence and the goalkeeper too, who have done very well, keeping three clean sheets this season. They have done spectacularly well", revealed Buckley.
