O'Flynn leaves as Examiner Appointed
Cork City today announced the departure of striker John O'Flynn to English League Two side, Barnet as the club are officially appointed an Examiner.
The Leesiders bid farewell to their second striker in a month to English League sides, with Dave Mooney going to Reading in August. O'Flynn signed for the club ahead of the 2002-03 season, and has been a regular goalscorer throughout his time in Cork.
In other Cork news, Kieran McCarthy was today appointed as Examiner to Cork City Football Club, having worked as interim examiner for the past two weeks. The Examinership granted will run up to the 7th of October.
The club were deducted 10 points by the FAI as a result of entering into Examinership and today the club said they would not be appealing this decision. The statement released today said "Cork City FC regrets the circumstances which have led to this deduction, but the club accepts the sanction imposed on it and will now look to move forward and safeguard its future."
FORAS, a Supporter’s Trust set up by fans of Cork City Football Club was also officially launched today.
