Mick Cooke has added to his Drogheda United squad with the addition of another ex-Monaghan player.

This time it is midfielder Eric Foley who has made the move from Gortakeegan to Hunky Dorys Park, following in the footsteps of Gabriel Sava, Shane Grimes, Sean Brennan, Ryan Brennan and Declan ‘Fabio’ O’Brien, who all made the same journey over the winter break.

Foley spent several years at Glasgow Celtic before returning to the League of Ireland in the summer of 2009 when he signed for Sporting Fingal. He played at Shelbourne in 2010 and joined Monaghan United at the start of 2011, going on to score three goals in 33 league appearances as Roddy Collin’s side won promotion to the Premier Division.
