Despite not playing any games so far in 2012, the Republic of Ireland have moved up three places in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

The Boys In Green now sit inside the top twenty teams in the rankings, after moving from 23rd to 20th this month, jumping ahead of Mexico and Australia.

Despite their recent managerial departure, there is some good news for the England team as they remain 5th. Scotland also remain in 48th place. Wales were among the biggest movers this month as they went from 50th to 42nd and Northern Ireland have also moved up one place into 86th.

From our Euro 2012 Group, World and European title holders Spain remain top of the rankings. Italy moved up into 8th place, with Croatia dropping just below them into 9th.

The next FIFA World Rankings list will be released on the Wednesday, 7th March.
