James McClean maintained his fine form scoring Sunderland’s goal in their 2-1 loss to Arsenal. He played the full 90 minutes at the Stadium of Light.
Former Bohs defender Stephen Ward and ex St Pats and Cork City striker Kevin Doyle both had a day to forget as their Wolves side lost 5-1 to West Brom in a midlands derby at Molineux. They both played 90 minutes.
Wes Hoolahan was a second half substitute for Norwich City in their 3-2 win against Swansea. The ex Shels man came on with 14 minutes remaining and came very closing very close to getting his name on the score sheet with a fine drive from the edge of the box.
Championship
Ex St Pats and Drogheda midfielder Keith Fahey played the full match for Birmingham City in their 1-0 win at home to Portsmouth on Tuesday last.
Noel Hunt (ex Shamrock Rovers and Waterford) and Gary Deegan (ex Bohs. Shels, Longford, Galway and Kilkenny City) were both in action in Reading’s 2-0 win at home to Coventry City. Hunt played 67 minutes for the home side while Deegan played 76 for the visitors.
Former Derry and Galway ‘keeper David Forde kept a clean sheet while playing 90 minutes in Millwall’s scoreless draw with Derby County.
League One
Ex Cork City striker John O’Flynn made two substitute appearances for Exeter City in the last week. He came on in the 73rd minute of their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Tuesday and as an 86th minutes sub in their 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Stephen Quinn the former St Pats midfielder played 90 minutes in Sheffield United’s 3-0 win over Wycombe.
League Two
Former Cork City defender Alan Bennett played 90 minutes in Cheltenham’s 4-2 defeat to Crawley town in their top of the table clash on Tuesday. Bennett also played the full 90 in his side’s 1-1 draw with Hereford on Saturday.
Ex Shels and St Pats midfielder Dave McAllister played the full match for Shrewsbury as they lost 1-0 to Torquay United.
Scottish Premier League
Former Sligo Rovers Captain Richie Ryan came on for the last nine minutes of Dundee United’s 5-1 win against St Johnstone.
Roy O’Donovan (ex Cork City) cams on as a sub in place of Eoin Doyle (ex Sligo Rovers) in the 65th minute of Hibs 0-0 draw with Aberdeen. Matt Doherty (ex Bohs) played 90 minutes for Pat Fenlon’s side in this game too.
Former Shels striker Richie Foran played the full game for Inverness Caledonian Thistle as they lost 1-0 to Celtic.
