A statement on the official website this morning of Limerick Football Club has stated that Dawid Janczyk and Lubos Kalouda have joined the club on a trial period from Russian giants CSKA Moscow.

Janczyk (24) has received five full international caps for the Polish national side; a reward for his fine displays in Polish youth games as well as his performance levels in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Having also played in the Champions League for CSKA, the addition of Janczyk would be invaluable to the First Division outfit. Playing as a striker, the Pole has scored twenty two times in thirty three appearances for the Polish youth sides.

Janczyk will be joined by fellow teammate Lubos Kalouda on Shannonside. Kalouda who is also 24, was signed by CSKA Moscow for a fee of 5.18 million euro in 2008. Kalouda opted for Russia despite interest from Newcastle United, Chelsea and PSV Eindhoven. A central midfielder by trade, comparisons were made by Italian giants Juventus to fellow Czech international Pavel Nedved.

Both players were on loan last season to PFC Oleksandriya (Ukraine).

Both are also expected to feature for Limerick in their friendly tie with Sligo Rovers in Terryland Park on Monday, February 13th
