Dunne thanks Cummins for contribution
Cork City manager Tommy Dunne has paid tribute to the commitment and work rate of Graham Cummins after the striker completed his move to Preston North End on Tuesday.
City agreed a deal with North End on Monday with Cummins travelling to discuss terms with the club and finalise the deal
"Graham was fantastic for us over the last few years; not alone from the point of view of him being our leading goalscorer, but also his commitment and his work rate.
"While we are disappointed to lose a player of Graham’s quality, we are satisfied that we reached an agreement that everyone was satisfied with", Dunne told CorkCityFC.net.
Dunne is adamant that Cummins will be a success and thanked him for his contribution. “With Graham’s willingness to work hard, I am sure that he has a bright future in the game. On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank Graham for his contribution to Cork City FC over the last two years and wish him the very best of luck for the future.”
Despite the loss of Cummins, Dunne is hopeful of news of bringing in a replacement in the near future. “Even prior to us receiving an offer for Graham, we were working hard to finalise our squad, and I am confident that we will have some positive news on that in the near future.”
