SD Galway make nine signings

Salthill Devon Galway have announced nine new signings ahead of the 2012 First Division. The club have also confirmed three friendly fixtures.

 

In addition to last year’s Salthill Devon squad, who will largely be in place again this season, and apart from goalkeeper Ronan Forde who has signed of Mervue United, the club have signed nine players for SD Galway for the coming season.

 

Nicky Curran, Enda Curran, Ciaran Foley, Eric Brown, Mixie Harty, Liam Grant, Mike Tierney, Sean Gavin and Willy Okai have all joined the club. Some other new signings are expected during the week.

 

Manager Tony Mannion is expecting many of the under 19's who have done well this season in the League of Ireland  to look to break into first team reckoning, most notably Colm Horgan, Jason Lyons and Timmy Molloy who all featured at some point last season.

 

The backroom team is not yet finalised, with Steve Haynes and John Mannion currently assisting the manager with the pre-season training.

 

The club have also confirmed three friendlies set for Drom in February. They club begin their pre-season fixtures with a game against Sligo Rovers on Saturday 4th Feb (2.00pm) before facing Drogheda United on Saturday 11th Feb (6pm). They play UCD on Saturday 18th Feb. (2pm) and they hope to confirm a friendly against Bohemians in the near future.
