Mervue United manager Johnny Glynn has confirmed his third new signing for this season’s Airtricity First Division campaign which will begin with a home tie against Longford Town at Fahy’s Field on Friday 2nd March.

Glynn has confirmed midfielder Gary Kelly has signed for the club this week having been training with the club. The 20 year old had spent the last two seasons with the now defunct Galway United and proved to be one of the club’s better performers during last season’s enduring campaign in the Premier Division. He will join former Galway United teammate, defender Stephen Walsh, and goalkeeper Ronan Forde as new additions to Glynn’s squad.

Glynn also confirmed that young midfielder Barry McEntee has re-signed for the club for the coming season. Nineteen year old McEntee has made appearances in all three seasons the club has been in League of Ireland and made 11 appearances late in the campaign last season, which was restricted due to injury.

A product of the club’s successful underage system he also captained the club’s youth team who captured the Connacht Youth Cup last May. He made one appearance in the club's debut league season of 2009, coming on as a substitute away to Waterford United for his LOI debut.

In 2010 he was a key member of the Mervue Under 18 side that made it to the final of the FAI Youth Cup. This was also the year that he broke into the first team squad making 14 league appearances in the First Division, scoring once, in a 2-1 defeat to Cork City at Turner's Cross.
