FAI Umbro Junior Cup Champions Carrick United welcome Sporting Fingal to Tom Drohan Park on Saturday evening hoping that they can book themselves a place in the quarter-finals of the FAI Ford Cup (Kick-off 18:00)

Carrick earned themselves a fourth round clash against the Santry side after defeating fellow non-league opposition Everton AFC by two goals to nil.

Despite their non-league status, Sporting Fingal manager Liam Buckley expects Carrick will be full of confidence going into the match and he believes his side can’t afford to take the Tipperary side for granted.

“We cannot afford to be complacent. Carrick will fancy their chances at home and have nothing to lose playing against a league club.

“It is important that we apply ourselves to the task at hand in a professional manner. Both teams realise that the prize is a progression into the quarter-final of the biggest cup competition in the country.

“That’s a great incentive for us. We’re the newest club in the eircom league and it would be a great achievement to be amongst the last eight teams in our first season.”

In Fingal team news, they will be without the injured pair Brian Kelly (back) and Jim Crawford (calf), though defender Philip Byrne is in contention for a starting place after recovering from a foot injury.

Barry Ferguson is the only one of Sporting’s recent signings to be cup-tied.

The game kicks off at 18:00
