Shamrock Rovers snap up Powell

Shamrock Rovers have confirmed the signing of Conor Powell. The defender spent the second half of last season at Sligo Rovers having signed in July 2011.

The Shamrock Rovers statement confirmed Powell as their new signing, with all new players meeting the media today in Tallaght Stadium.

"Conor Powell has become the Hoops latest signing, as the young defender joined the champions this afternoon (Wednesday). The 24-year-old left-back brings to five the number of new signings Stephen Kenny has made since joining the club.

Powell, along with Killian Brennan, Graham Gartland, Colin Hawkins (player-coach) and Daryl Kavanagh met the media as Shamrock Rovers players for the first time today. Hoops boss, Stephen Kenny and his new assistant manager, Stephen Glass were also present at today’s media event at Tallaght Stadium, so look out for plenty of Hoops coverage over the next few days."
