Stephen Kenny has added three more players to his squad as preparations continue for Shamrock Rovers’ defence of their League crown.

The former Derry City boss has secured the services of Sean Gannon, Dean Kelly and Conor McCormack for the 2012 campaign, having already signed up Chris Turner, Stephen O’Donnell and Gary McCabe.

Gannon is a young full back who graduated from the U20 side last season and may well be asked to fill the boots of Enda Stevens who left to join Aston Villa after Rovers Europa League campaign ended.

McCormack joined the club at the beginning of last season from Italian side Triestina and became one of the stars of Rovers’ 2011 campaign. Initially appearing as a full back, he soon established a role as a defensive central midfielder. He made 21 league appearances as Rovers won their second consecutive League title and played in eight of the Hoop’s twelve European games.

Kelly also signed for Rovers at the start of 2011 and scored the 94th minute goal against UCD that secured his club the 2011 league title.
