Monaghan United sign teenage duo

Monaghan United have announced the signings of teenage starlets Conor Murphy and Darragh Reynor.
Murphy, a striker and and Republic of Ireland Under-19 international with 7 caps, joins Mons from Bray Wanderers where he spent the 2011 season.
Scoring 8 goals in 22 starts, Murphy proved to be a key member of the Bray team last year which finished an impressive 6th place. The signing will be seen as a major coup for the club as Murphy is seen as one of the top young players in the country.
Darragh Reynor, a central midfielder, joins from Nottingham Forest having spent two years in the academy. He was a prominent feature of their reserve side which he scored 4 goals during the 2010/11 season. He is a former Crumlin United player and is seen by many as an exciting talent. Incidentally, Reynor is the son of Monaghan United legend John Reynor, who played for the club in the 1990’s.
The signings bring Monaghan United’s 2012 squad number to 14. With less than two months until, the season begins, Roddy Collins is expected to add a number of other players to the squad as they prepare for their return to the Premier League.
