Bray Wanderers vs Dundalk
First Division leaders Dundalk travel to the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night to take on Bray Wanderers in the FAI Cup Fourth Round.
Both Derek Pender and Gabriel Sava will miss out on the clash. Pender is suspended after reaching four penalty points and Sava is cup-tied having played for Drogheda Town in the earlier rounds of the cup. Kevin Doherty, Colm Tresson and Ronan Ivory are all doubtful. Doherty was substituted against Sligo Rovers last week with a dead leg while Tresson and Ivory are suffering from hamstring and back injuries respectively.
Speaking on the Sligo match, Bray's assistant manager Keith Long said: "We were glad to get a point last week, we have played worse and won. It was an exciting game, with plenty of goalmouth action, that either side could have won."
The Lilywhites will go into this tie missing three players. July signings Dessie Baker and Derek Doyle are both cup-tied having played in the competition previously this season for Shamrock Rovers and UCD respectively. Davie O'Connor and Aidan Lynch could be in line for returns to the squad after recent absences.
Ahead of the game, Dundalk boss John Gill said: "It will take our mind off the league a bit but I’d rather continue with the league with the momentum that we have. We’re unbeaten in seven now, with five wins and two draws and six clean-sheets." He added: "I’ve been to watch Bray twice myself and we’ll pick a team to go out and win the game. We don’t want a replay. We’ll have good options with a couple of players coming back in, and I’ll be playing the strongest team available to me.”
Kick-off is at 7.45pm. Replay will be held in Oriel Park on Monday, 18th August at 7.45pm, if needed.
