Cork City have announced Tim Murphy as its new Chief Executive.

Tim will join the club from AOS Security Services, where he works as Business Development Manager, and is the outgoing President of Basketball Ireland.  The 48-year-old has 31 years experience in sport administration, both at grassroots and high performance level, and has been a vital driving force behind the success of Glanmire Ladies Basketball Club.

“The board was delighted by the number of high calibre applications for the position of Chief Executive and has spent the last number of weeks going through a rigorous process to ensure that all shortlisted candidates were given a fair opportunity to impress,” Chairman Jonathan O’Brien said. "Tim’s track record in sport stood out and we are confident that his knowledge and vast experience will help take Cork City FC to the next level off the pitch as the club returns to the Premier Division next season.”

“I’m delighted and grateful to be afforded this opportunity and I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead,” Tim added. “We are all longing for the day that Cork City FC will challenge for and win the Premier Division title once again. I also look forward to helping the club create and implement a sustainable business model to make sure that Cork City FC is here for the long haul.”
