Cork City goalkeeper Mark McNulty has signed a new contract with the club. The 31 year old missed only one league fixture in 2011, culminating in a man of the match display in the last game of the season as City were crowned First Division champions.

Speaking to CorkCityFC.net, McNulty said: “I’m delighted to have signed back, and I’m looking forward to what will hopefully be another exciting year for the club. There are some good clubs in the Premier Division, so it will be a challenge for us to step up, but we can push on and I think we can do well next season."

"It will be a step up for us, but we did well in games against Premier Division teams last season, so I am confident we can have a good season.”

Cork City manager Tommy Dunne said he was pleased to have secured McNulty’s services for the coming season, saying: “Mark has been at the club for years, and I am delighted he has signed back. He did well last season, being voted into the players’ team of the year at the end of the season and he turned in an excellent performance in the final game of the season.”
