Shelbourne complete Cronin deal
Shelbourne have announced the signing of Glenn Cronin. The midfielder had made the switch to Tolka Park from Bohemians ahead of their return to the Premier Division for the 2012 season.
Cronin has played with Bohemians since the start of the 2008 season and, even though he missed the first part of last season due to a cruciate ligament injury picked up in a game with St. Patrick's Athletic at the end of the 2010 season, he still managed to play 19 League, five FAI Cup and two Europa League games.
The 30-year-old scored twice in these games - one away to Drogheda at the start of September and a very important equaliser away to Shamrock Rovers in early October.
Glenn started his career playing with Cherry Orchard before signing for Exeter City in June 2000. He became a regular with the club in the 2001/02 season and went on the play with that club for five seasons, playing over 160 games for them, scoring five times. He was signed by Chester City in July 2006 but a bad injury limited his appearances there. Glenn has been capped at U18 and U21 level and becomes the 11th players to commit to Shelbourne for next season.
