Kevin Murray signs for Cork City

Cork City have announced the signing of defender Kevin Murray. Murray, who has captained Waterford United for a number of years after signing for them from Cobh Ramblers, had a previous spell with City some years ago.
Speaking to CorkCityFC.net, the 28 year old central defender said: “I am delighted to be back at Cork City. For various reasons I spent the last few years with Waterford, but I am really happy to be back and focus now on being successful with Cork City next season.”
“I’ve played against Cork City a number of times over the last couple of years and have been very impressed by them. Turner’s Cross was an intimidating place to play in with a great atmosphere, I am really looking forward to being a home player next season!”
“I know most of the lads in the squad and have played with a number of them before. I am looking forward to playing with the likes of Mark McNulty, Davin O’Neill and Graham Cummins again. I just want to knuckle down, work hard in pre-season and force my way into Tommy’s plans for next season.”
Commenting on the signing, City manager Tommy Dunne said: “It is no secret that I have wanted to sign Kevin for quite a while now. He is an experienced centre half and also a Cork native, and he has shown his quality in the games where he has played against us over the last couple of seasons. He is a very good addition to our squad and I am pleased that he has signed for the club.”
It's been a productive month so far for Cork as last week manager Tommy Dunne signed a three-year contract with the club.
