Sligo Rovers boss Paul Cook looks set to move to Scottish Premier League club St. Johnstone after the Bit o Red's appearance in the FAI Cup final on November 6th.

The club have released a statement today stating that Paul Cook had requested permission to talk to St. Johnstone and compensation has now been agreed between the two sides. The Liverpool born manager has just to agree personal terms and it will bring to a close a Sligo Rovers managerial career that has seen him spend five seasons at the helm, winning the FAI Cup in 2010.

The statement from the club reads as follows:

"Paul Cook has asked Sligo Rovers for permission to speak to St. Johnstone. The two clubs have spoken and agreed terms of compensation. Negotiations are currently ongoing between Paul and St. Johnstone."

After contacting the club a representative for St Johnstone said "The club are aware the story has come out, but they have no comment on it at the moment."

St. Johnstone currently lie in 4th place in the SPL after 12 games, three points adrift of Celtic, who have a game in hand.

Do you think this is a positive move for Cook? If you are a Sligo fan, and Cook agrees terms, who would you like to see replace him?
