Tierney Goes on Loan, Gamble Signs New Contract
Cork City striker John Tierney has joined Limerick 37 on loan until the end of the season.
The young striker joined the Rebel Army from the Shannonsiders at the start of the season, but has yet to feature at first team level. Speaking about the move to CorkCityFC.ie, City manager Alan Mathews said: “John has gone to Limerick on loan to get regular first team football. He has been unfortunate that this has not happened for him at Cork City, and this move will allow him more opportunities to play regularly.”
City’s international midfielder Joe Gamble has committed his future to the club, having signed on for another 3 years with the club. Welcoming the news, Mathews said: “Joe has shown great commitment by signing up for another three years with the club. Joe has been a consistently good performer for the club, and securing his services for another three years is a huge boost for the club. We expect to have similar news with regard to other players in the squad in the immediate future.”
