Striker Lawrie Dudfield has signed for Cork City until the end of the season. Dudfield, 28, has previously played for Leicester City and Hull City among others, and spent the last two seasons at Notts County.

Speaking to CorkCityFC.ie, City boss Alan Mathews said: “Lawrie is in until the end of the season, and he gives options both up front and wide right. He is an experienced player, and will give us a physical presence. He has shown a willingness to come in until the end of the season, which is terrific as it will allow him to settle in and hopefully he can have a long and fruitful career with Cork City.”

Speaking after making his debut today in Sligo, Dudfield told CorkCityFC.ie that he is pleased to have joined the club. He said: “I’m very pleased to come over here. I'm obviously disappointed with having to come off with a knock on my debut, but the most important thing is that we won the game. I’m settling in well, there’s a great bunch of lads here, and I’m really enjoying it so far.”
