King names U21 squad for Euro game
Republic of Ireland under 21 manager Noel King has named his squad for the European Championship qualifier against Liechtenstein on Tuesday October 11.
King has named an initial 16 man squad but will increase the squad to 18 players prior to the Group 8 game which takes place is Eschen.
King’s side won their first game of the qualifiers beating Hungary 2-1 in Sligo but lost their second game 1-0 away to Turkey a few days later.
Lanre Onyebanjo, James McCarthy, Aaron Doran, Rhys Murphy and Joe Mason who were all included in the last squad for the matches against Hungary and Turkey are not included this time but may be may be among the two extra players to be added to the squad.
James Collins of Shrewsbury and senior international Greg Cunningham of Manchester City are the two additions to the squad. Crystal Palace’s Sean Scannell who was named in the initial squad for the previous games but withdrew through injury returns to the squad.
