FAI Cup Semi-Final draw made

The draw for the semi-finals of the FAI Ford Cup took place on Monday night with holders Sligo Rovers being paired with the Cup winners from 2008, Bohemians. Between them, these two sides have racked up 23 appearances in the final.

 

The other semi-final pairing pitches either Limerick FC or Shelbourne ( who meet next Monday night) against St Patrick’s Athletic. St Pats are, famously, without an FAI Cup win in fifty years while Shelbourne last lifted the trophy in 2000.

 

The last time a club from Shannonside won the Cup was in 1982 when Limerick United defeated Bohemians 1-0 at Dalymount Park.

 

Both FAI Cup semi-final ties will take place over the weekend of Sunday 16th October.
