Premier Team of the Week #8
Team of the Week 8 sees plenty of new faces and some returning ones too. Ryan Thomspson couldn’t stop Sligo Rovers on Friday night but has done enough to become ExtraTime’s fifth goalkeeper of the week. He’s joined by clubmate Dan Murray who gets the nod at centre back alongside Gavin Peers of Sligo.
Beside him, Derry captain Barry Molloy fills the unfamiliar role of right back having reverted there in his side’s 2-1 win over UCD with Ian Bermingham, who put in a solid display in Pat’s 3-0 win away to Bray, on the left.
There’s more Pat’s representation in midfield with Stephen Bradley making his first appearance in our Team of the Week. Another debutant is Kevin Deery who popped up for the opener in Derry’s win over UCD. It’s a different story for Joseph Ndo, however, as he continues to draw the plaudits for his terrific performances for the Bit O’ Red. He was instrumental in Sligo’s win over the Hoops and is duly rewarded. Killian Brennan, of Bohemians, completes the midfield.
And up front Mark Quigley returns to the squad again for only the second time after his inclusion in TOTW 2. He is partnered by Sligo’s Eoin Doyle.
Ryan Thompson (Shamrock Rovers)
Barry Molloy (Derry City)
Dan Murray (Shamrock Rovers)
Gavin Peers (Sligo Rovers)
Ian Bermingham (St Patrick’s Athletic)
Kevin Deery (Derry City)
Stephen Bradley (St Patrick’s Athletic)
Joseph Ndo (Sligo Rovers)
Killian Brennan (Bohemians)
Mark Quigley (Dundalk)
Eoin Doyle (Sligo Rovers)
