Bray Wanderers -v- St. Patrick's Athletic
St. Patrick’s Athletic travel to the Carlisle Grounds on Friday evening (kick-off 7.45pm) to face a Bray Wanderers team having to deal with three suspensions and a couple of key players carrying knocks.
Danny O’Connor and Adam Mitchell will have to sit this one out having received their marching orders against Limerick in the FAI Cup game while Stephen Last will also miss out due to suspension following an A Championship dismissal.
Bray could also be without the services of influential midfielder Gary Dempsey who picked up a back injury in training and has missed the last three games. Chris Shields will have to wait until a Friday morning fitness test to determine whether he has overcome an ankle injury.
Looking forward to Friday night Devlin said, "It's a very interesting game, they are going really well. We were going really well up to the last time we met them and they beat us 1-0.It would be nice to turn it around this time. It should be a good game but it will be tough".
Free scoring Pat’s will be in buoyant mood having scored 20 goals in their last six outings. Recent signing Sean O’Connor will be looking to keep his goalscoring run going, although he will have to pass a late fitness test on a bruised calf.
Two players definitely out for St. Pat’s are Derek Doyle (calf) and David McMillan (hamstring), having picked up knocks in the recent league win over Galway. Ian Daly could also make a comeback to league action having made a late cameo appearance against Killester United in midweek.
Pete Mahon hasn’t given up hope of a late title charge, stating:"We've scored a lot of goals over the past few weeks so it shows that we're doing something right but tomorrow's game is now definitely the most important of our season so far.
"If we can pick up three points in Bray it would set us up nicely going into the game with Shamrock Rovers on Monday in Richmond.”
