New signing in Inchicore

Jaroslaw Bialek, the eircom League’s latest import, recently signed on at Richmond Park and spoke of his delight at St Pats being his first club outside his native Poland.

“St Pat’s is a big and good club; very professional. When they called my agent I was happy to come here.”

When Bialek was asked why he came to play for Pat’s, I’m pretty sure none of the press expected such a blunt answer.

“The main reason is my wife. She worked here one year ago. She wanted to come back and she gave my CV to the club with a DVD of me. Then I came for trials”

Bialek joined Derek O’Brien and Jason Gavin as the new signings in Inchicore with all three spending time with the press following their arrivals.

“It’s a very big change,” said O’Brien following his move from Galway United. “It’s a lot more intense, even in training it’s more intense. More than I’m used to back in Galway.”

Gavin, signed from rivals Drogheda, passed up the opportunity of European football by joining Pat’s, signing too late for Thursday’s game against JFK Olimps, however should Pat’s progress he should be eligible for the next round.

“It’s a bit of a blow. I’m disappointed. I’m just here for the league now and hopefully the lads will get by on Thursday. I was delighted with the move. It wasn’t going well at Drogheda at the time. St Pat’s were my first choice.”

Asked if there was interest from England, Gavin was short in response.

“No there wasn’t. A couple abroad [in Europe] though.”
