Longford's Cowan signs for Stevenage

Longford Town striker Don Cowan has become the latest Airtricity League player to move across water following his transfer to League One outfit Stevenage Borough on Wednesday night for an undisclosed fee.
Cowan who had been the Town’s leading goalscorer had attracted the attention of several clubs in recent months with a string of stirring performances for the First Division outfit. He had been previously on trial with Championship side Millwall.
The 21 year old impressed Stevenage manager Graham Westley while over on trial this week. The deal was due to have been tied up earlier but dragged out on deadline day and he finally put pen to paper on a new deal at Broadhall Way just minutes before the window closed.
