Bohemians 2 - 0 Shelbourne

A late double booked Bohemians' place in the Leinster Senior Cup final tonight in Dalymount Park, goals from Chris Forrester and Christy Fagan within the last five minutes giving the Gypsies the win over local rivals Shelbourne.

Bohs will now meet the winners of the St. Pats - Killester United semi-final, which went to a replay after finishing 2-2 on Monday night.

David Cassidy probably had the best chance of a opportunity light first half, thundering his free-kick off the crossbar on 28 minutes for the holders. Kevin Feely was booked for hauling Karl Bermingham down in the run-up to that free. Karl Bermingham had a few half-chances on his own up front- his chip just wide from 25 yards after 16 minutes the pick of them.

Bohs' best chance of the half came after 38 minutes. Ryan McEvoy's in-swinging corner was flapped at by Shels 'keeper Paul Skinner and the ball looked like it would fall to a Bohs player before Ian Ryan cleared. Earlier Keith Buckley had a chance just to the left of the Shels goal after Christy Fagan cut in from the wing to feed him the ball, but Buckley scuffed his shot wide.

Stephen Hurley had an excellent chance for the home side just after half time. The midfielder did well to get on the end of a low cross put across the Shels goal, but Paul Skinner saved superbly with his feet to deny a goal. Barry Clancy and Karl Bermingham both subsequently had chances for Shels- but Clancy's header and Bermingham's shot from just inside the box were both straight at Bohs 'keeper Craig Sexton.
>br /> The match took on a frantic pace, with the play switching from end to end rapidly at times in the second half. Christy Fagan headed dangerously wide on 72 minutes from a deep cross. Both sides had good spells of possession, but Bohs, mainly through Christy Fagan, always looked the more likely team to score. Fagan was put through on 82 minutes, forcing Paul Skinner into diving at his feet.

The pressure put on by Bohs came good three minutes before the end. Christopher Forrester showed his skill by pirouetting on the ball just on the edge of the Shels box before striking the ball sweetly beyond the reach of Paul Skinner.

Bohs doubled their lead in stoppage time, with Christy Fagan comfortably dispatching a penalty. Fagan earned the penalty himself after Gareth Matthews brought him down when the Manchester United youth product made a darting run into the Shels box.
