Mark Farren rejoins Derry City
Mark Farren has rejoined Derry City for the last two months of the season having overcome a serious illness.
Farren, who scored the goal to win Derry the First Division last season, was forced to retire with a serious head condition but after successful surgery and a lengthy period of recuperation he has been given the all clear to resume his playing career.
A Derry City statement said: “We are delighted to confirm that Mark Farren has fully recovered and has rejoined the playing squad for the remainder of the season.”
Farren himself commented: “I’d like to thank everyone for their support and best wishes over the past year its meant a lot, I will be rejoining Derry City for the last 2 months of the season and hopefully we can go on and win the league and the league cup.”
