Shelbourne sign Brazilian striker
Shelbourne manager Alan Mathews has added to his striking options by completing the signings of two players- returning Redsman Phillip Gorman and Brazillian David Da Silva.
Gorman joins Shels until the end of the season for his third spell with the club. He was injured at the end of last season, after scoring four goals in the league. Gorman joined the Reds from Kildare County at the start of the 2010 season. He first signed for the club under Dermot Keely in 2008, having also played for Dublin City and Kilkenny City. Gorman has also played for the Irish Army side.
Birkirkara of Malta was David Da Silva's last club. The 21 year-old had a short spell at the 2009-10 Maltese champions but played against Albanian side Vllaznia in the Europa League first qualifying round. In the second leg, Da Silva scored Birkirkara's only goal of the two legs in a 1-1 draw. Da Silva will go in to the Shels squad for tomorrow night's visit to Longford Town.
Shels also announced that utility player Ray Scully has left the club by mutual consent.
