Trapatonni names 32 man squad

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has named a 32 man provisional squad for the vital European Championship qualifiers against Slovakia and Russia in September. The 32 contains no major surprises.

Speaking at the squad announcment, Trapattoni said “September will be a very important month and we go into these important matches well prepared after last night's performance against Croatia. We have a number of injury doubts and in the coming weeks we will be hoping to avoid picking up any more. A week or 10 days before the game, we will have the possibility to reduce the squad.”
