Cork City have signed Cathal Lordan having released the player in the 2010 season.

The 24 year old midfielder made ten league appearances for the club last season, before a knee injury ended his season. Speaking to CorkCityFC.net, Lordan said: “I am delighted to have signed back with the club. I have been back in training with the squad for the last number of weeks, and am looking forward to playing again.”

City boss Tommy Dunne expressed his happiness with the signing, saying: “It’s a credit to Cathal’s application and dedication that he has signed back. Since he suffered the injury, he was worked diligently with our physio Rob Savage, our doctor Gerard Murphy and the surgeons. He has worked very hard to get himself right and to train hard to get himself back from the injury and back to fitness, and that has earned him the opportunity to come back into the squad for what will be probably the most exciting ten to twelve weeks this club has had in a while.”

Dunne also confirmed that midfielder Simon Holland and striker Kieran Kenneally have left the club to seek to play regularly.
