Rovers draw Copenhagen

Should Shamrock Rovers overcome Flora Tallinn in their Champions League second qualifying round they have been drawn to play Danish side FC Copenhagen in the third qualifying round.

Rovers head to Estonia next week for the second leg of their tie against Tallinn with a 1-0 lead thanks to Chris Turner’s goal at Tallaght Stadium last Tuesday and have the added bonus of having denied their opponents an away goal. Should Rovers score in Tallinn, Flora will need three goals to progress.

Copenhagen made it to the final 16 of last seasons Champions League and would represent a formidable obstacle should Rovers go through. The first leg will be played in Denmark on either 26th or 27th July with a potential meeting at Tallaght taking place a week later on Tuesday or Wednesday 2/3 August.
