Sligo Rovers in crisis
Sligo Rovers have announced that money will be needed by the end of August on the club will no longer exist.
The club held a meeting on Monday night where roughly 50 people met and discussed the situation at the club and the future of Sligo Rovers as a Premier League club with the board of management. The outcome of the meeting lead to two possible fundraising ideas, a members syndicate where each member pays 1000 euro, or a share capital drive, where existing members can buy a new share, or if you already don't hve one, to purchase one now.
A Special General Meeting will be held within 4 weeks, and anyone that has further fundraising ideas or can help the club in any way, you can contact the club on 071 917 12 12.
This is not the first club this season to be considering their very existance in the Premier League. Both Cobh Ramblers and Galway United have already struggling with the former being talked about returning to the Munster Senior League. The big question now is will these clubs rally the support needed to keep them competing at the top level of the Ireland domestic football.
