In what is another landmark for Airtricity League football, the Dublin Super Cup will now be broadcast in 3D. In what is a first for the players in the league, it marks a huge progression once more in the positive exposure of the League of Ireland.

Some of the finest sporting events in the world have been broadcast in 3D, such as the Champions League Final and the Superbowl. Now Irish football will be represented in the same way.

The action begins on the 30th July as the Irish representatives take on the might of Manchester City, while they then tackle the Scottish Cup champions Celtic in the Aviva Stadium on the 31st. Both games are scheduled for a kickoff of 2pm over the Bank Holiday weekend. The Airtricity League XI will be hand-picked by Irish football veteran, Damien Richardson.

Richardson commented: “The boys will no doubt be thrilled to learn that the games will be televised in 3D. The innovative broadcast coverage will only add to what will already be an incredible experience as the players aim to give their all and demonstrate the quality of the Irish league against two world class teams.” While the Dublin Super Cup is a great spectacle for all involved, the Airtricity League players will now be afforded the chance to flash their skills in front of a bumper audience in 3D in an even more focused, detailed view. It will surely enhance the profile of Irish domestic football in general.

The Airtricity League XI will be banking on the support of the Irish fans as they look to go toe-to-toe against some of the world’s biggest superstars such as Yaya Toure and Nigel De Jong.

Tickets for the event can be purchased via Ticketmaster or through the Dublin Super Cup website.
