Live Updates: Republic of Ireland v Italy

After Saturday night's victory over Macedonia in the Euro 2012 qualifier, focus for the Republic of Ireland switches to Stade Maurice Dufrasne in Liege, Belgium as Giovanni Trapattoni faces his native country Italy in an International friendly.

There will be no Robbie Keane, Shay Given, John O'Shea, Kevin Kilbane or Keith Fahey who have all been released from the squad. In the absence of those key players, defender Paul McShane has been awarded the captaincy of the team.
