Drogheda United have been paired with Levadia Tallinn of Estonia in the 1st qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

Tallinn qualified due to their league win in the Estonian Championship last season and will provide tough opposition for Paul Doolin and his side.

Should the Drogs progress, United will take on Dynamo Kiev in the 2nd qualifying round.

Doolin was happy with the draw, from a geographical point of view, but was quick to point out that Levadia will pose a tough test. "Geographically speaking, it's not a bad draw, it certainly could have been a lot worse. But from a football point of view, we know it's going to be tough. They have decent experience in Europe and I think they're leading their league at the moment. But it's great for the club, and with Dynamo Kiev waiting in the next round, what a tie that would be."

Drogheda United will play the first leg at home in Dalymount Park on Wednesday 16th July and away in Tallinn on Wednesday 23rd July.

The 2nd qualifying round ties will take place on 29/30 July and 5/6 August.
